  • We would like you to treat Glan Dwr as your home – with respect.
  • The accommodation is available from 18.00 on day of arrival until 16.00 on the day of departure unless otherwise agreed with NFCC. All bags and belongings must be removed from the upstairs bedrooms by noon on the day of departure. Please store in the downstairs bedroom. The downstairs shower will be available should you wish to freshen up before departure.
  • Instructions on keys and gaining access to the property will be emailed 7 days before your date of arrival. If you have not heard from us please call or email.
  • Please keep the Glan Dwr locked at all times when no guests are present. On departure please remember to lock the Lodge and follow the key instructions provided for the return on the keys.
  • Please leave the property clean and tidy after your stay.
  • No smoking is permitted inside Glan Dwr at any time.
  • Dogs are permitted but are not allowed upstairs and must be kept off all the soft furnishings.
  • No outdoor kit is permitted upstairs – this means all outside gear, coats, boots, rucksacks and climbing gear.
  • If you use the log-burning stove in the lounge, replace wood used from the wood store at the rear of Glan Dwr. Please follow the instructions that are available at Glan Dwr for using the stove most effectively.
  • The kitchen facilities consist of an oven, double hob, microwave, toaster and kettles as well as enough crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils for 20 people.
  • Please wash up all crockery, cutlery, glassware and pots and pan thoroughly after use and put away.
  • Clean any food spillages on the cookers, work surfaces, inside the fridge and floor.
  • The teatowels that are provided can be washed in the  washing machine and dried in the drying room.
  • All food must be kept in the large Tupperware boxes provided, or placed in the fridge – we do not want to encourage mice!
  • Do not leave any unused food of any kind at Glan Dwr, either take it with you or throw it away.
  • All rubbish should be put in black bin bags and either left in the wheely-bin before you leave or taken way with you.
  • When using the bathroom facilities, please ensure shower curtains are inside the trays when you use them.
  • Wipe over showers, sinks, and loo-brush the loos after use.
  • The sleeping facilities consist of large, purpose-built bunk beds, which are provided with mattresses, a bottom sheet, pillows and pillowcases. Please bring your own sleeping bags/duvets and towels.
  • A vacuum cleaner is provided in the under stairs cupboard. Please run this over the bedrooms and communal areas before you leave.
  • The property is checked by a professional cleaner before every rental. Please leave the property clean and tidy on your departure. If the property is found to be dirty or damaged you will be liable for the cost of repairs or additional cleaning charges.
  • There are two TV’s at Glan Dwr. The TV and video in the lounge cannot receive a terrestrial signal and is therefore only available to screen videos. The TV in the dining area has been tuned in to receive the four main TV channels. The signal is poor in this mountainous area, so please do not try to retune – BBC1 in particular is never very clear.
  • Children should be supervised at all times and guests should be aware of the river at the rear of the property.
  • Portable bbqs may be used with caution outside but should be kept off the wooden decking at all times.
  • Glan Dwr Mountain Lodge is protected by a fire alarm system. There are smoke detectors in all rooms and a heat detector in the kitchen/diner. There are fire doors to all rooms surrounding the staircase, and these must be kept closed in order to be effective. In the case of a fire, the alarm will sound and you must leave the building by the safest route – this should be the main stairway. If you are co-ordinating a booking for a large group, please ensure you familiarise yourself with the alarm system.
  • Services Information: The water supply stopcock is situated in the under stairs cupboard and needs a flat head screwdriver to shut it off. There is a screw driver located next to the stopcock. The gas supply to the hobs is provided by cylinders, which are kept at the rear of the property. The central heating is fired by oil and the boiler is behind the louvered door in the kitchen. The central heating is on a timer with the thermostat situated in the entrance hall. The electrical fuse boards and metre are near the window of the dining area and each circuit is described on a laminated sheet.
  • Call New Forest Outdoor Centre on 02380 284 401 or in an emergency Matt King on 07977 193 001 in the event of any problems.
